Hello
I'm Kailey Northam, a freelance data analyst with a passion for turning raw data into actionable insights. With a background in psychology and a data analytics degree, I specialize in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization using tools like Python, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI. My goal is to help businesses make informed decisions through clear, data-driven strategies. Whether it’s building dashboards, performing statistical analysis, or developing predictive models, I’m dedicated to delivering tailored solutions that drive results.
My Story
Throughout my experiences as a nanny, horse trainer, and student of psychology and data analytics, I’ve developed a diverse skill set that blends practical, interpersonal, and technical abilities.
As a nanny, I built strong childcare expertise by supporting children’s development through creative and educational activities. My first aid and CPR certification gave me confidence in handling emergencies, while time management and organization were crucial for balancing daily activities, meal preparation, and household tasks. This role also enhanced my communication skills, as I interacted with both children and parents, and it strengthened my patience and flexibility, enabling me to adapt to different situations.
As a horse trainer, I refined my understanding of horse behavior and gained expertise in training techniques for various riding disciplines. My knowledge of horse health and first aid allowed me to care for horses effectively, while my problem-solving skills helped address behavioral challenges. I also developed discipline and physical stamina for the demands of horse training and improved my instructional skills when teaching riders and communicating with horse owners.
My studies in psychology taught me essential critical thinking and research skills, helping me analyze complex topics and understand human behavior. These insights have been valuable in both my practical roles and in understanding interpersonal dynamics. Psychology also strengthened my communication skills, as I learned to present ideas clearly in writing and discussions.
Through my data analytics coursework, I’ve gained a range of technical skills, including data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning. I’m proficient in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau, which allow me to create impactful insights from complex datasets. Data wrangling has also become second nature as I prepare and clean raw data for analysis. One of the key takeaways from data analytics has been learning how to effectively communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders and using problem-solving skills to derive actionable insights from data.
Together, these experiences have made me a versatile and adaptable individual, capable of balancing practical, hands-on tasks with highly technical, analytical work, and prepared to bring value in diverse settings.
